Take a break, step away from the task you are working on when it starts to feel like a grind. Even if it’s’s only for a few minutes. Take a short walk or just sit quietly for a few moments.

Do some deep breathing. Breath in through your nose and breath out through your mouth. Keep your shoulders down and relaxed. Your belly should raise as you breath in and fall as you breath out. Count as your breathing, count to 4 as you breath in and count to 4 as you breath out.

Listen to music, to your favourite song. Dance or sing along, like nobody is watching or nobody is listening. Put on your headphones and really listen to the music, get lost in the song and let yourself drift away.

  1. Oh yes, I have been thinking about doing this for quite some time now. I have had a lot of health issues to deal with here recently, and this has taken away the confident person I normally am. I find myself in a place I don’t like. This is certainly something I am going to look into. Thank you.

    I actually took a pause midway through the article to do some solid 20 min meditation. I usually do it in the morning, but today it somehow was so packed that I didn’t get the time to do it.
    it’s extremely useful to be reminded of the research as meditation (or some call it mindfulness) is one of the cornerstones of awesome, truly awesome health.

I get very stressed at work and home sometimes, mostly because I don’t have enough time to do everything that needs to be done.
